On the Go

We've been busy getting ready for our move. If all goes well, we'll be moving on Friday. We've hired movers to do the heavy lifting, but Danelle has been hard at work already getting a jump on all the packing.

This weekend Kristin got to go to a birthday party at a roller skating rink. Kellen got to go to. Sounds like they both had a lot of fun. Kristin is great on her roller skates and it sounds like Kellen was pretty comfortable out there too.

Kristin had a softball clinic early this afternoon. She did pretty well and it looked like she was having fun. I'll most likely be helping to coach her team this spring.

Kellen's imagination has been in full gear. For a copule of days he had fun pretending to be a polar bear. He would call me a seal and chase me around. Today he had fun with some paking boxes - he was a robot of course.

I've been taking photos with my new phone lately and finally learned how to download them to our computer this afternoon.

Weekend

We had quite the busy weekend. We got up bright and early on Saturday morning to go the the Rose City Classic Dog Show. We wanted to go early because the boxers were showing at 8 am. It was the first time we'd ever been to a dog show. It was quite the experience. We loved seeing all the boxers and then roamed around for a bit. We talked to people that came from southern California to show his dogs and another that travelled from Victoria Island, BC. The next step for us will be more patience. The breeders that we talked to and liked won't have another litter available until next fall.

Today Kristin's Girlscout troupe had an reward event at the ice arena. Kellen wanted to go skating too so he and I tagged along. Danelle and Kristin had lots of fun with their troupe. Lots of girls from Kristin's soccer team are also in the troupe, and coincedentally 3 other girls from the team who are in a different troupe also happened to have an ice skating outing today also. So it was a soccer reunion. It had been a whole week since they'd seen each other. :-) Kellen and I had fun too. Kellen skated quite a bit. I'm sure he will sleep soundly tonight.

Busy week ahead with packing and planning the move. The carpets are less than a year old but we'll have them cleaned before we move in. I'm also trying to line up an air duct cleaning. Kristin wants to paint her room, but other than that the house is move-in ready.

I've got jury duty on Thursday of this week. Been really busy at work, so I'm hoping I don't get picked for a trial. Otherwise I'll be working on the weekend to get caught up.

Snow!

Yes, we woke up to a little bit of snow on the ground this morning. It was just a dusting and was gone by the time we got done with Kristin's indoor soccer game at about 9:30am. Kristin had her last futsol game of the season today and played well. Her team won 5-1. :) She played well and even had an assist when playing goalie!

This afternoon at about 1:30pm or so the snow started falling. Quickly, the snow came down harder and in big wet flakes. We got enough to cover the grass and streets in about 30 minutes. After it stopped we took Kellen out to play in the front yard. Kristin had a playdate with a friend and got to go out with Kellen and I later when she got home. They both had fun making snowmen, throwing snowballs, and making snow angels. Luckily the snow melted from the streets and we are hoping it does not freeze to ice tonight. We still have snow in the yard and will see it in the morning at least. I guess we are lucky there is already no school tomorrow due to the holiday, so at least we shouldn't miss a day or have a delay due to snow and ice. :)

Sunshine in January

Well, we will enjoy the sunshine that we are getting this week. Not very normal for the month of January. It is windy and cold, but sunny. This weather allowed for the roof work to be done on our soon to be new house. The forecast is calling for snow this weekend... we'll see.

Kristin has been very busy getting back into the school routine. The 3rd grade teachers started something new this week. Kristin now has a literacy project every two weeks (two weeks to complete it). This time she chose to create a puppet show based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar story. She has her puppets made and now needs to write up a script. She is also busy this week with Girl Scout cookie sales.

Kellen is glad to be back at pre-school. They have been learning about snow and related items. This has made for some fun science experiments in class. With the drier weather we have made it out a few times for Kellen to ride his new Spiderman bike.

Back to School

The kids are back to school. Both are glad to be back. Kellen has prety tired after pre-school today. They do a good job wearing him out. Kristin lost a classmate (to a relocation to Nevada) over break but is gaining a new one tomorrow from China. She also had her last indoor softball class this evening. She seems to enjoy it. Of course, we are blessed that she seems to enjoy most things.

Here is Kellen enjoying one of his new Hot Wheels kits.

Kellen decided for some reason that he needed a headband. I may or may not have worn that one in college.

2012

Happy New Year everyone!

We were blessed to spend New Years Eve with great friends. Yummy hawaiian food and munchies and great company. The kids all had fun playing together as well. Kellen was pretty excited to see that our friend Owen got a drum set for Christmas. :) Lots of noise from upstairs and the kids having fun. Kristin also lost another tooth last night. What a way to start the new year... with the Tooth Fairy leaving money for a tooth!

Yesterday afternoon we took the kids to see the Muppet movie. Okay, so maybe it was mostly because I wanted to see it. :) It was a fun movie and the kids seemed to enjoy it as well. Aaron took the kids to see the new Chipmunk movie earlier this week.

Today we all slept in and had a lazy day. Although, since it was sunny and 50 degrees, but windy, we got outside. The kids rode their bikes, Aaron mowed (mulched the leaves), and I got the Christmas lights down. It is nice having some weather like that in January!
