We had a pleasant evening about the house. We played with Play Doh, Kellen had the play kitchen out (he moved it to the living room to play with it), and just goofed around in general. The photo is Kellen sitting in Kristin's dinner chair. He climbed up to have a snack of cereal. He was very proud to be sitting in big sister's chair.

Back to School
Kristin was back to Kindergarten today. Hooray!!! She was excited to see her friends. She got to to the library and pick out a new book. She of course picked another Scooby Doo book. :) Kristin also had fun playing with a few of her girlfriends at recess today. No rain, so they were able to play on the play equipment today.
Kellen had a good day today at daycare. They got to paint really large (I mean large... 2 ft. diameter) coffee filters. Yes, huge coffee filters. They painted them yellow... suns.
Tonight we watched the Iowa State women's basketball game. They unfortunately lost (badly) to Stanford. We enjoyed the game though and are happy they made it to the Elite Eight. Go Clones!

Hurricane Kellen
Danelle and Kristin got out the hippity hop ball that Kristin got for Christmas and blew it up. Kristin had a good time with it. She even eventually figured out the traditional way to use it.

Go Cyclones!
Way to go Cyclone women! They were able to pull out the win over Mich. State tonight in the b-ball tourney. Kristin stayed up a little late to watch the last few minutes with me.
Yesterday Kristin had another field trip. This time to a park for a picnic. It was pretty cloudy and they had a little rain during their lunch, but otherwise it worked out for them. At least this park has a shelter with tables so they could eat lunch under cover. I showed up as a suprise to eat my lunch and of course take some pictures. Kristin was having a blast. Those are handmade binoculars she is sporting. They were looking for birds and animals. Kristin said she saw some robins.
Kellen had a good day yesterday, but is starting to tease his teachers when they ask for a hug. We were able to get out last night for a walk before the weekend rains. Kellen was asking for the wagon, so we took the wagon up to the school. We also pumped up the basketball and took it with. Kristin is learning to dribble and Aaron played with her a little at the school. He showed her how to shoot the ball underhand since she doesn't seem to have the strength to shoot regularly yet. She just finds it all fun.

Nicer Weather
Today we had a pleasant day weather-wise. Mostly sunny and in the mid-fifties. We took a short walk up to the elementary school and let the kids play on the equipment. Kellen was in his glory on the slide and Kristin went right for the swings, but then ended up bouncing back and forth between the different play structures.
Ke
llen wasn't ready to come inside after our walk, even though it was his bath time. He usually loves his bath time, but not tonight. He was so angry about having to come inside that he cried through his whole bath. We wonder if he even remebered what he was angry about after awhile.
Kristin and I took a breather from Number Four, Bobby Orr! this evening and read The Little Mermaid instead. Before bedtime she had all of her princess dolls out on the chair in the living room and was singing them songs. It was very cute.
The photo is another one that Danelle took yesterday at Kristin's field trip to Krispy Kreme.

Krispy Kreme
Kellen had a good day. Tonight right before bath he spent some time playing with the bottles and sippy cup lids in the drying rack. He really has fun with it.

Number 4, Bobby Orr
So Kristin seems to have a new favorite book. Last time we were at the library, I happened upon a children's book called Number Four, Bobby Orr! I picked it up and we checked it out with Kristin's selections. Usually, Kristin only wants me to read her the libray books once for each book. But we've read this book 3 times now. It's a long book and it takes a couple nights to get all the way through it.
Kellen had a good day at daycare but he took a really short nap, so he was crabby this evening. Danelle ended up giving him a bath and putting him to bed a little early. The last couple of evenings he's like to bring his white chair into the kitchen while I make my lunch for the next day. He begs for cheese and plays with the bottles on the drying rack. He still does one bottle a day in the morning.
The photo is from Saturday evening after Kristin was done showing off her stencil paintings.
