Swim Lessons

Once Kellen decided it was okay to get in the pool with Teacher John he had a lot of fun. Took 3 lessons to get him in, but he did it. From then on, on swim days he was asking to go to the pool when he woke up... but lessons didn't start until 10:50am. We will have to try to get him in another session over the summer. :)

Carnival

Last night was the school carnival at Kristin's school. The day was so nice and warm... almost 80 and then the clouds and wind showed up for the carnival. Luckily, we went in pants and brought coats. Many people were in shorts and a t-shirt and were pretty cold by the end of the night. Kristin and Kellen had fun playing games and jumping in some bounce-houses. They also had fun picking out prizes with their funny money at the end. Good times and nice to see lots of friends.

This afternoon Kristin had another softball game. Pretty nice day for a game. The girls did well shorthanded two today (out of a 7 player team that is pretty big). :) Kellen was a little bummed that his friends weren't their to play with (siblings of other players). The main two he likes to play with were at their soccer game.

It was a nice day to be outside, so the kids and Aaron spent quite a bit of time riding bikes and playing out front this afternoon. I started packing for our trip to see my brother get married this week! So excited!

Week Recap

What a busy week! Kellen started swim lessons lat week on Monday and we go M, W, F. This is his first lesson without mom in the pool with him. So, the first lesson he didn't get in the pool. On Wednesday and Friday he ended up getting in, but pretty much right at the end of lesson. We are hoping by the end of the session he will get in at the beginning of class.

Happy 4th Birthday Kellen!!! On Thursday our little boy grew up a little more and turned 4. How time flies! Aaron was able to take most of the day off to stay home and play with Kellen and all of his new toys. Kellen and Kristin were both up early ready for Kellen to open gifts.... it was like it was Christmas morning or something. :)

After Kristin was off to school, the 3 of us went to check out a preschool for Kellen in the fall. He will be starting at that preschool in September and will be there for 2 1/2 hours on M, W, F mornings. He seemed to enjoy the preschool, especially since he got to have snack with them which was rainbow goldfish! One of his favorites.

Kristin had a softball game on Kellen's birthday and another game on Saturday morning. It depends on the day, but she is generally having fun playing softball. She had a great game on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon we had Kellen's birthday party with his friends at Pump It Up. They all had fun and were worn out. :) Kellen still had energy though... mainly due to presents I think. So many new toys to play with!

Yesterday, Kellen had another party to go to for a friend's 4th birthday. It was at a gymanstic type gym. Kellen did great and had lots of fun running around with his friends. Kristin got to have a playdate with her friend Ella while Kellen and I where at the party and Aaron was playing in his hockey game.

What a week... and I am sure I forgot things! Will try to post pictures of the birthday boy soon. On to another very busy week!

Girl Scouts Busy Week

This week has been a busy week for my Girl Scout troop. On Wednesday we had our normal troop meeting, however we met at the animal shelter. The girls had a goal of buying dog and cat toys for shelter animals for their service project from cookie sales. On Wednesday we got to deliver those toys, learn about the shelter and take a tour. The girls got to feed the dogs and cats. Everyone had fun, even Kellen (honorary scout), and the girls asked great questions of the tour guide!

Today we had the fun part of our cookie sales goal... a roller skating party! Yes, I got on skates, and so did Kellen. It brought back many good memories of my youth at J4 Rollaway (See 1st picture of the old rink and the owner Jim). Kellen did well for his first time in roller skates. Kristin and the girls had a lot of fun too! This roller rink has a nice wood floor and they even have a room were the floor is bumpy. The girls spent some time back there having fun. Kristin spent much of here time back there.

Catching Up with Kellen

What's new with Kellen? What's not new with Kellen?

He recently transitioned to the Pre-Kindergarten room at his daycare that he goes to on Tuesdays while Danelle is at work. He had been one of the oldest in the 'Threes' classroom, and I'm pretty sure he was the biggest. But now he gets to hang out with a lot of his friends that turned 4 before him. He has been a little resistant to that new environment in the morning, but by the afternoon he is happy as a clam.

Kellen's favorite new thing to say is 'That's Impossible!" Kellen, did you see that? "That's impossible!" Kellen, clean up your toys. "That's impossible!" Joy.

Kellen's new favorite number... 22. Whenever he is counting and decides he is done, he'll skip to 22 and then stop. If I tell him that he has 5 minutes until bathtime, he'll try to negotiate: "No, 22 minutes!" This evening, he and Danelle wanted the same hot wheels car. Danelle wanted it because it is a yellow sports car. Kellen wanted it because it had the number 22 on it.

One last gem. I asked him what he wanted for his birthday tonight and he started listing off toys in Kristin's room.
