Kristin's soccer club played in the Oswego Nike Cup this weekend. Her club fielded two teams in the U10 age bracket and Kristin played on the A team. They had 3 games of pool play and came out of pool play with a 2-0-1 record. Kristin scored in each of the first two games. One goal was a beautiul one-timer from the top of the box off of a corner kick. She put the ball into the top corner of the net. Their last game of pool play was a nail-biter that ended in a 1-1 tie. There were 3 brackets of 4 teams each, and their record was good enough to advance them to the knockout round today.
They battled hard in the first game and came away with a 3-0 win. Kristin played midfield and defense in the first half and goalie in the second half. Kristin did a great job to preserve the shutout.
In the final, they had to face off again against the team that they tied in the the pool play. They came out strong and took a 2-0 goal lead into halftime and held on for the 2-0 win! Kristin played midfield, forward and defense during that game.
